Reports: Kenley Jansen reaches 1-year, $10M deal with Angels

Free-agent closer Kenley Jansen has agreed to a one-year, $10 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels, multiple media outlets reported Tuesday.

The right-hander is heading into his 16th season in the majors.

Jansen, 37, converted 27 of 31 save opportunities in 2024 with the Boston Red Sox to go along with a 4-2 record and a 3.29 ERA in 54 2/3 innings.

A four-time All-Star, Jansen’s 447 career saves rank fourth in MLB history. Baseball Hall of Fame members Mariano Rivera (652), Trevor Hoffman (601) and Lee Smith (478) are ahead of him.

Jansen is 49-36 with a 2.57 ERA in 871 career relief appearances with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2010-21), Atlanta Braves (2022) and Red Sox (2023-24).
